Cross-border E-commerce Blue Ocean, Sailing Forward with Shishi Qingchuang

【Preface】

This is the era of the young—a time free from complex and trivial shackles, led by pioneers in the fast-paced "Internet" era, who serve as the main force of e-commerce. The domestic e-commerce market has become like a single-plank bridge; with fierce competition, there is no room for everyone to thrive. Only the best succeed, while the mediocre become mired in infighting. Consequently, this so-called "Red Ocean" market struggles amidst the smoke of "best-seller price wars." In contrast, the "Cross-border Blue Ocean" is increasingly favored by e-commerce professionals and has gained attention and support from governments and society at all levels.

【Cross-border Network Wholesale: New Life for the Market】

As the largest clothing wholesale base in Fujian Province with the most comprehensive range of menswear, the Shishi Qingchuang City International Network Wholesale Center has forged ahead during its three-year journey. It has successfully attracted over 30,000 small and medium-sized sellers from across the country to Shishi to source goods. Due to this agglomeration effect, over 1,000 garment factories have successively set up operations in and around Lingxiu Town, driving the town's economy and the development of Shishi's e-commerce, while cementing Shishi's leading position in the national garment industry. With the first phase of the market reaching maturity, the second phase—the cross-border network wholesale market—is already taking shape, its scale and bright prospects having captured the attention of the Shishi Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government.

On the afternoon of April 9, 2018, accompanied by Zhuang Guoyang, Secretary of the Lingxiu Town Party Committee; Huang Mingxuan, Mayor of Lingxiu Town; Lin Zhicheng, Chairman of Qingchuang City; and Ye Zifu, Vice Chairman, Zhu Qiping, Secretary of the Shishi Municipal Party Committee, along with Shangguan Yuejin, Director of the Standing Committee of the Shishi Municipal People's Congress, and their delegation, visited Qingchuang City to conduct research on the second phase of the market and hear a report on the project's progress.

The second phase of Qingchuang City expects an investment of 30 to 50 million yuan, covering the cross-border network wholesale market, a multi-level automated parking garage, and the renovation of Rongfang Apartment. The cross-border network wholesale market spans approximately 10,000 square meters. Investment attraction is currently complete, with over 200 high-quality suppliers of menswear, womenswear, and childrenswear selected from more than 800 applicants to vigorously develop cross-border e-commerce. The automated parking garage will add 800 parking spaces, further enhancing software and hardware service facilities during this continuous development process.

Currently, according to its development plan, Qingchuang City has completed the first-phase wholesale market and the second-phase international network wholesale center, and has partnered with the U.S.-based Global Logistics Properties (GLP) to establish an intelligent warehousing and logistics park. Subsequently, the third phase of Qingchuang City will focus on developing a micro-business operations center and service center. On April 18, Qingchuang City will sign strategic cooperation agreements with four major domestic industrial belt markets (Humen Daying Womenswear Market, Quanzhou Xingfu Street, Wenzhou Elephant City, and Xintang Four Seasons Denim City). By bringing these markets onto the Qingchuang City platform, it will introduce more outside merchants to Shishi e-commerce. Furthermore, the Qingchuang City Cross-border E-commerce Ecosystem Summit will be held on April 19, where ten major international mainstream cross-border e-commerce platforms will gather at Qingchuang City, attracting sellers and buyers of womenswear and childrenswear from all over the world to Shishi, thereby improving the market's comprehensive external competitiveness.

【Conclusion】

After listening to the report, Zhu Qiping, Secretary of the Shishi Municipal Party Committee, affirmed the driving role of Qingchuang City in Lingxiu Town's economy and its significant contribution to the transformative development of Shishi's e-commerce industry. He expressed his hope that Qingchuang City would persist in its efforts, continue to work hard, and constantly innovate and expand to become the nation's largest professional network wholesale market.
